Pet: Beta fish named Nemo.

Favorite cut flower: Zinnia.

Favorite back-yard botanical: Hydrangeas, "especially plain old green Annabelles. They grow like crazy, they love Minnesota weather, they are hardy and you can use them for decorating about nine months out of the year!"

Inspirational resource: "You can laugh if you want. I always think that Martha Stewart explains very well how to use flowers. I do use the Better Homes and Gardens website [www.bhg.com] a lot for inspiration; they have a really natural look that I like."

Fun fact: She and her then-fiancé invited relatives to an engagement dinner and held a surprise wedding between the appetizers and the entree.
