Following his best offensive performance since the 2012-13 season, Minnesota senior Andre Hollins earned the Big Ten's Player of the Week honors.

The 6-foot-2 Memphis native fell one three-pointer shy of a school record in a seven-three-pointer, 27-point performance at Wake Forest on Dec. 2 and then added 15 vs. Western Carolina on Friday to average 21 points and five rebounds on the week.

Hollins shot 51.9 percent from the field, 56.3 percent from three-point range and 83.3 percent from the free-throw line last week.

Hollins' nominee marks the first time Minnesota has had a Player of the Week since last December, when then-senior Austin Hollins garnered the league honors.

Hollins is averaging 14 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists on the year.

Meanwhile, girlfriend and women's star Rachel Banham received a Big Ten player of the week honorable mention after averaging 28 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists in the Gophers' wins over NC State and Butler last week.
