PASADENA, Calif. — The AMC network will be married to the mob this spring.

The network announced Saturday that it was making an eight-hour miniseries, "Making of the Mob: New York," on the roots of the five crime families that made up the American Mafia. Each one-hour episode will be paired with a mob-related film, like "The Godfather," "Goodfellas" "Donnie Brasco" and "Scarface."

The series will feature the real-life characters Charles "Lucky" Luciano, Meyer Lansky and Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel, and include recreations as well as archival footage.
