Children of the '70s rejoice: Your kids can soon enjoy an updated version of what may have been one of your favorite television series from the era.
Amazon Studios has signed a deal with TV producers Sid and Marty Krofft to develop a reimagined pilot of their live action series "Sigmund and the Sea Monsters," which aired 29 episodes on Saturday mornings between 1974 and 1975.
The series followed two brothers ((Johnny Whitaker, Scott Kolden) who find and hide a sea monster named Sigmund, who was thrown out of his underwater home by his family for refusing to scare people.
When making the announcement on Thursday, Amazon did not say when the pilot would premiere.
The Krofft's also co-created the original "Land of the Lost" with Allan Foshko after making their TV debut in 1969 with television debut in 1969 with NBC's "H.R. Pufnstuf," which was adapted into a feature film.
"Sid and Marty are geniuses and we are honored to be working with them to bring to the world a return of what we believe is TV's most fabulous and funniest sea creature ever," Roy Price, vice president of Amazon Studios, said in a statement.
