In voting results that sent shockwaves through the NFL and the video game community (OK, not really shockwaves), Adrian Peterson lost to Michael Vick in the semifinals of the Madden 12 cover voting -- and perhaps more surprisingly, Super Bowl MVP Aaron Rodgers lost to running back Peyton Hillis of the Browns. Must have been the Lake Erie mud-coast bias.

Hillis garnered 61 percent of the vote to Rodgers' 39 percent. Peterson was undone 59-41 by Vick.

So instead of a showdown between seemingly popular NFC North rivals at the peak of their positions, we have a guy who went into last season with about 400 career rushing yards against a QB whose public profile was seemingly unfixable after his severe canine troubles. One of those two will be on the cover of Madden. That would not have been our guess one year ago.
