Adelman: Williams has a place in starting lineup

The Wolves tip off shortly here in Toronto.

Rick Adelman says he liked the way his lineup decision -- he started Derrick Williams at Kevin Love's power forward spot and brought Dante Cunningham off the bench -- played out in Friday's season-opening victory over Sacramento and he plans to stick with it.

In fact, he hopes to stick with it until Love returns.

"I think that's the best thing for us to do today," he said. "Offensively, we really need to get a rhythm going, but we missed a lot of shots (2 for 17 on threes Friday) so it's really hard to tell."

Love and Ricky Rubio are with the team and just came back to the locker room not long ago side by side and drenched with sweat after a good pre-game workout.

A couple other tidbits:

* If noticed this Friday...Brandon Roy sits on a padded "booster" seat when he's on the bench, but he says it's not beause of his knees. He says that was something he did in Portland after somebody suggested it'd help his back. He says it does and now he says he's got Luke Ridnour doing it, too.

"He's a pain," Adelman deadpanned when asked what it was like to coach Lowry. "And I'm afraid he's going to be a pain tonight, too. No, he was great. Kyle was one of my favorite players. He really grew in the time he was with us."
