First steps: Born in Takoradi, Ghana, on Oct. 18, 1995. Left home at age 11 to attend the Right To Dream Academy to live, study and train in soccer.
Coming to America: Moved to Solvang, Calif., through the Right to Dream Academy at age 15 to attend Dunn School. Played for Dunn School, Santa Barbara Soccer Club and South Coast Strikers.
College career: Three seasons at UCLA, scored 18 goals with 18 assists in 42 games and 34 starts.
Making a name: First Team All-Pac-12 selection in 2015 and the 2013-14 Gatorade National Boys Soccer Player of the Year, the same year Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns won the basketball equivalent.
