ABOUT THIS PROJECT

What: A 1926 bungalow in St. Paul gets a sleek second-floor addition.

Size: The original home was 950 square feet. The 1,000-square-foot second-floor addition includes a kitchen, living room, dining room, office, powder room and staircase landing. An additional 300 square feet of space was added to the remodeled main floor for the master bath, mudroom and small office. Michael Roehr also bumped out the side of the house 5 feet to build two new staircases.

Contractor: Michael Beebe Construction, St. Paul.

Cost: $225,000, includes everything but the labor costs of the interior and exterior finishing work, which was done by Roehr.
