Currently reading: "Repacking Your Bags" by David Shapiro and Richard Leider; "It's for seniors, about what direction you want to go."

Dream vacation: "I'm going to the San Juan Islands to work on hiking trails for the American Hiking Society."

Guilty pleasure: "Reading in bed. And scotch!"

Splurge food: Nachos and cheese.

Most indispensable tool: Hand drill.

Favorite paint: "Whatever is free. But if I'm painting for myself, I love Martin Senour paint. It has a nice consistency. And you need a good bristle brush. I describe my paint brush the way most men describe women!"

Favorite fix: "I used leftover paint, stain gel, solvent and poly and redid my bathroom floor for about $5."

What she'd save if the house were on fire: Vintage pansy paintings and pictures of her children.
