A wine for celebration

Moscato Spumante is even a good substitute for dessert.

WINE In a season laden with celebrations -- not to mention sweets -- the Barefoot Moscato Spumante ($9) is a swell fit. This sparkling wine dances across the palate with bold flavors, a bit like fortified tangerine juice, with bubbles to boot. Try it with cheeses and crackers at a holiday party, or with spicy Asian cuisine. Bonus: At a time of year when we're all watching our intake, it's even a good substitute for dessert.
