Good morning, commuters!

Roads in the metro area are dry now, but that is likely to change. The National Weather Service says steady light snow is spreading across the southwestern portion of Minnesota and should clip the Twin Cities metro area with a dusting to 2 inches. The snow could start falling as early as 7 a.m.

So be sure to take your winter driving skills with you. We don't want a repeat of last week when our snow event led to more than 300 crashes and 150 spin outs.

I'll be keeping an eye on the roads and rails this morning, reporting any delays or issues — and I will need your help.

If you see or hear about any congestion, delays or problems, e-mail drive@startribune or tweet @stribdrive.
