A group of Minnesota clinical research and consulting businesses said on Tuesday it has formed an alliance to educate others on the role its industry plays in the state.
The group, called the Minnesota Clinical Research Alliance, aims to educate elected officials, manufacturers, vendors, media, service providers and academic partners, according to a brochure on its website.
About 11 percent of the nation's active clinical trials were conducted in Minnesota last year, according to Archstone Consulting.
Partners involved in the alliance are Agility Research, Clinical Research Institute, Courante Oncology, Frestedt Inc., Medtox Laboratories, Minnesota Center for Obesity, Metabolism & Endocrinology, Minnesota Gastroenterology, Prism Clinical Research, The Greenlight Group, Ridgeview Research and Twin Cities Clinical Research, according to the brochure.
Affiliates of the Minnesota Clinical Research Alliance are the BioBusiness Alliance of Minnesota and trade association LifeScience Alley.
