A gift for birds and people Looking for a great holiday gift for a special person? How about "gifting" them with a trumpeter swan, a nestful of tiny chickadees or a handsome owl or peregrine falcon?

By making a donation to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Roseville or the Raptor Center on the University of Minnesota's St. Paul campus, you can underwrite the care and treatment of some very special birds. The Wildlife Center is the ER for sick and injured wild birds and other creatures, and the Raptor Center cares for eagles, owls, hawks and falcons. A donation to either center will benefit both your recipient and the birds.

Check out the Wildlife Rehab Center at www.wrcmn. org (click on "Donate," then look for "Sponsor an Animal") or the Raptor Center at www.raptor.cvm.umn.edu (click on "How to Make a Donation," then "Gifts for All Occasions"; there are some great ideas here).
