Delays and traffic jams were pretty much confined to construction zones as mainline roads saw hardly any crashes.

Motorists did get stuck in traffic on southbound I-494, mainly between Rockford Road and I-394. Southbound Hwy. 100 drivers lost time between Glenwood Avenue and Excelsior Blvd.

As a result, southbound Hwy. 169 saw pockets of slow and go traffic, and this is likely to be the pattern until fall.

St. Paul drivers saw delays on W. 7th Street between Fort Snelling and Davern Street. That's due to the road being reduced to a single lane in each direction while the bridge over the Mississippi River is redecked.

As the rush wraps up, a couple fender benders to be on the watch for:

  • Southbound 35W at the bottom of the ramp from eastbound 694. Two semis are involved.
  • Eastbound Hwy. 110 at I-35E. A fender bender is off on the right shoulder
  • A MnDOT employee just picked up the lawn chair that had been blocking northbound Cedar Avenue at Hwy. 13.

We have a lot of road closures coming up this weekend, including Hwy. 100 through St. Louis Park. The Drive will have all the details on the Friday Weekend Traffic round up.
