One person died in a fatal crash in McLeod County early Wednesday, the State Patrol said. The crash occurred on Hwy. 7 near Dairly Lane at 4:47 p.m. Three vehicles were involved and authorities shut down the highway between Lester Prairie and Silver Lake.

In the immediate metro, traffic moved along without many problems. Southbound 35E had a few delays with a stall and a crash at Maryland Avenue during the middle portion of the rush.

This evening might be tricky if strong thunderstorms develop as predicted by the National Weather Service.

Today look for flaggers to be directing traffic on Hwy. 7 between County Road 44 and Hwy. 41. MnDOT will be doing road work from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

On westbound 94, look for the right lane to be closed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. between I-694 and Century Avenue.
