The one big snarl that developed Monday morning was in Plymouth. A crash on eastbound Hwy. 55 at Larch Lane around 7:15 a.m. had traffic at a standstill for nearly an hour. Nobody was going anywhere fast as the log jam extended west of I-494 at its worst. The crash cleared about 30 minutes ago and traffic is moving just fine at this hour.

Earlier, a wreck on eastbound 94 at Weaver Lake Road made the trip from Rogers to Maple Grove unpleasant. The slow slog from 101st Avenue to the Fish Lake Split averaged 15 to 18 minutes during the 6 a.m. hour. But once the wreckage was cleared away, the trip returned to the normal 9 to 12 minutes.

Elsewhere commuters didn't experience much of a problem as traffic volumes remained on the light side.

Northstar riders on the reverse trip from Minneapolis to Big Lake experienced a 15-minute delay and the fifth and final inbound trip was running 7 to 10 minutes behind schedule due to the late arrival in Big Lake.

Road work season is here, and some midday lane closures include the right lane on eastbound I-694 at Brooklyn Blvd. until 4 p.m. today.

Also look for lane restrictions on Hwy. 212 at Shady Oak Road Eden Prairie.

Tonight, the left lanes of I-35W in both directions will be closed from 8 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday between 86th Street and 94th Street.
