9 a.m. update: Rush hour wrap up

There was not much in the way of crashes or delays on mainline highways and freeways Friday morning, and that kept traffic moving along.

One exception was on westbound I-94 where a crash at Hwy. 280 at 7:30 a.m. gummed traffic up. Traffic came to a grind at Dale Street and added 5 to 7 minutes to the drive between St. Paul and Minneapolis. The knot started to loosen around 8:30 a.m. At present, the trip between 35E and 35W is down to 12 minutes.

Another trouble spot was on eastbound Hwy. 10 at Egret Blvd. Two vehicles collided in the left lane and took out part of the cable median barrier. Traffic was at a halt from Hanson Blvd. past the scene for about 30 minutes between 7:50 and 8:20 a.m.

Commuters on westbound 494 had a slight set back around the same time due to a wreck at Lyndale Avenue.

Other than that, no major delays developed on the system.

At present, look for a stalled vehicle on southbound 35E at Maryland Avenue and a slight slow down on northbound Hwy. 169 from Old Shakopee Road to Anderson Lakes Pkwy. That's were a couple of disabled semis is on the right shoulder.

No problems were reported on metro area transit lines either.
