The frigid weather led to a handful of stalls on the system Wednesday morning but nothing to menacing for commuters. Most were short lived and the delay associated with them were minimal.

The system is free of crashes and stalls at this hour allowing late morning commuters to make good time on the roads.

A crash on southbound Hwy. 169 at 49th Avenue in New Hope just after 7 a.m. had traffic rolling slow through New Hope and Brooklyn Park for about 30 minutes. Other spots where traffic jammed up included southbound 35E from Maryland Avenue to I-94 in St. Paul and westbound 494 between Hwy. 110 and Pilot Knob Road.

No problems for southwest metro commuters today and I-35W from Burnsville to downtown Minneapolis held steady with 20 to 25 minute commutes.

That is it for today. I will be back tomorrow with more traffic reports. As always, questions and comments on metro area traffic and transit are welcome at drive@startribune.com.
