A light band of freezing rain and mist didn't hamper the morning rush hour on Thursday. The morning commute went off without many problems.
Only a handful of crashes contributed to the few slow downs we had. Commuters on eastbound 494 were held up twice with separate crashes at East Bush Lake Road in Bloomington. Both wrecks caused traffic to screech to a grind from Hwy. 169 to Hwy. 100. Both have cleared a this hour.
The lone crash still on the system is a fender bender on the left shoulder of southbound 35W at Lyndale Avenue.
MnDOT is reporting ice covered roads in the southern reaches of the metro, including Farmington, New Market, southern Lakeville, Northfield and New Prague. Drive carefully.
