A fender bender blocking the left lane of westbound 494 at Cedar Avenue is the newest hot spot on the system. Delays begin at 24th Avenue in Bloomington.
Eastbound Crosstown continues to drag from 28th Avenue to the Mendota Bridge. The bridge eastbound is down to one lane due to road work. Westbound was down to one lane until about 8:30 a.m., and that created massive backups on Hwy. 110 and Hwy. 55. Those bottlenecks are beginning to loosen, but plan on 5 to 8 extra minutes if your travel plans take you across the Mendota Bridge.
Elsewhere drive times are dropping and speeds are increasing. One exception is southbound 494 from Rockford Road to 394.
Both directions of Hwy. 169 also have pockets of congestion between Minnetonka Blvd. and Medicine Lake Road.
Here are some current travel times:
North metro
Southbound 35W from 95th Avenue to downtown Minneapolis: 19 minutes
Southbound 35E from County 96 to I-94: 18 minutes.
