8:30 a.m. update: Current drive times

Compared to most rush hours, today's is moving at lightening speed. It helps when roads are in great winter driving shape, traffic volumes are down and crashes are few and far between.

There are two on the system at the moment. Northbound Hwy. 169 at Anderson Lakes Pkwy. That one has traffic sluggish from Hwy. 101 to 494.

The other is on southbound Hwy. 169 on the right shoulder at Plymouth Avenue.

One other problem area is northbound 35E over the Cayuga Bridge in St. Paul. MnDOT has the left lane shut down until 3 p.m. for a maintenance project. Traffic clogs up at I-94 and on the ramp from eastbound 94 to northbound 35E.

Southbound 35W from 95th Avenue to downtown Minneapolis: 15 minutes

Eastbound Hwy. 10 from Hwy. 169 to 35W: 12 minutes

Westbound 694 from 35E to Hwy. 252: 11 minutes. Eastbound is 10 minutes.

West metro

Eastbound 94 from Hwy. 101 to 494: 10 minutes

Southbound 494 from 94 down to 394: 8 minutes

Southbound Hwy. 169 from I-94 to Crosstown: 15 minutes

Southbound Hwy. 100 from I-94 to Crosstown: 15 minutes

South metro

Northbound 35W from County 42 to Crosstown: 11 minutes To downtown Minneapolis: 20 minutes.

Northbound Cedar Avenue from 35E to the Crosstown: 9 minutes

Northbound 169 from Canterbury Road to 494: 19 minutes

Eastbound Hwy. 212 from Dell Road to Crosstown: 6 minutes

Westbound 494 from Cedar Avenue to Hwy. 100: 7 minutes. Eastbound 494 from Hwy. 169 to 35W: 5 minutes

Westbound Crosstown from Cedar Avenue to Hwy. 169: 9 minutes Eastbound Crosstown from Hwy. 169 to Cedar Avenue: 8 minutes

East metro

Westbound 94 from 35E to the Lowry Hill Tunnel: 10 minutes.
