7:15 a.m. update: Speeds slowly picking up on I-94 in the Midway

It's been a wild and wooly rush hour so far on westbound 94 between downtown St. Paul and Hwy. 280. No fewer than four crashes have occurred, including the latest on the right shoulder at Prior Avenue.

It's been a wild and wooly rush hour so far on westbound 94 between downtown St. Paul and Hwy. 280. No fewer than four crashes have occurred, including the latest on the right shoulder at Prior Avenue.

The good news is that two other wrecks have cleared, and that is allowing traffic to gain a little momentum. Still, being this is one of the busiest freeways in the metro, it will take some time for the backlog to clear out. Brake lights come on at Western Avenue and things are tight past Hwy. 280.
