The precipatation is moving closer to the Twin Cities metro area. Already slippery roads are being reported as close as Glencoe, Norwood Young America and St. Peter. Snow and some freezing rain is expected to move into the western and southwestern suburbs in the next little while, so be alert for changing road conditions.
Fridley police have southbound University Avenue closed from Osborne Road to 73rd Avenue. Crews are putting out a car fire.
Elsewhere, things are still moving well across the metro, but traffic volumes are starting to pick up so don't be surprised to hit an isolated pocket of slow traffic.
