I was surprised to see the latest recycling jobs figures from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency in a local newspaper column. For a long time people have talked about recycling as a way to save energy and raw materials. It turns out that recycling is a powerful economic driver as well.
In Minnesota, there are almost 37,000 jobs in the recycling industry. There are also value-added manufacturers turning recycled materials into new products and providing 8700 more jobs. You can learn more about the latest recycling economic data or check out a great article you may have missed about manufacturer using recycled materials here in Minnesota.
More recycling means more jobs. That is a win-win.
