3-21 after 120-100 loss at Sacramento

Fourth consecutive loss ties that 2007-08 team for franchise's worst start at 24 games

I wrote a nice, long, super informative post about tonight's game that got eaten either by the blog publishing system or my hotel Internet service...

So, since it's late and I've got an early flight to Utah for Monday's game against the Jazz, here's the late game story I wrote for the Web site only since all the newspaper deadlines had passed because of the West Coast start.

Most notable about tonight:

Even though they were presumably physically and possibly emotionally from Friday's game in L.A. against the Lakers, the tried to run with a Kings team that showed they are just one more young Western Conference team that has passed the Wolves by (at least for now) on the rebuilding road.

They've done so in fairly short order (and without injured Kevin Martin) with a collection of size, skill and athleticism that includes Tyreke Evans, Jason Thompson, Donte Greene (nice player picked up as a rookie from Houston in the Ron Artest trade a coule years back), first-round pick Omri Casspi and your favorite former Timberwolf, Beno Udrih.

As the story points out, remember when the Target Center draft party last summer erupted with joy and singing when the Kings bypassed Ricky Rubio and took Evans fourth overall instead?

Oh, boy.....

The Wolves are taking Sunday off (probably will only watch some game film instead) in Salt Lake City and then play the Jazz Monday night, nine days after they beat them at home for that third victory of the season.

In Atlanta, the refrains praising Kirk Cousins' leadership are familiar. But the longevity of his connection with the Falcons is already in doubt as he prepares to play the Vikings.
