2A final score: Edina beats Apple Valley 2-0

The Hornets will play for their 10th state championship tomorrow night

March 13, 2010 at 2:17AM

Edina has punched its ticket into the Class 2A championship game. The Hornets beat Apple Valley 2-0 here in what was actually quite a battle.

With 5:58 to go, Apple Valley's Chris Goodman took a double minor (2 for slashing, 2 for charging) and that pretty much wrapped 'er up.

Not a bad game by the Eagles at all. They just didn't have the offensive power top to bottom to get any sort of thing going.

Shots were 37-18, Hornets.

Minnetonka and Hill-Murray up next.

The Gophers played with more urgency, but it wasn’t enough to keep them from another conference sweep, and they lost LJ Mooney to injury in the process.
