A 21-year-old St. Paul man was arrested Monday in connection with the shooting death on Sunday of a teenager in the man's Frogtown area home.
Police have identified the victim as Justin D. Boecker, 17, of St. Paul.
Police spokesman Sgt. Paul Schnell said investigators still were working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Evidence in the case is expected to be presented Tuesday to the Ramsey County attorney's office for consideration of charges, he said.
The two, who had been "friends for several years," according to Schnell, were in a room alone when the shooting occurred about 4:28 p.m. Sunday.
Relatives of the 21-year-old reported hearing a gunshot and then seeing the man run from the family's residence in the 600 block of W. Minnehaha Avenue.
On Monday afternoon, the man was found at the East Side home of another friend, and was taken into custody without incident, Schnell said.
A person who answered the phone at the victim's home Monday said the family was declining to comment.
