4

Quarterbacks taken in the first 10 picks — Baker Mayfield to the Browns, Sam Darnold to the Jets, Josh Allen to Bills and Josh Rosen to the Cardinals. It was the first time since the NFL and the AFL held a common draft in 1967 that four quarterbacks were selected in the top 10. Louisville's Lamar Jackson was selected with the final pick of the first round by the Ravens, marking only the third time that at least five QBs were taken in the opening round. The 1983 NFL draft holds the record at six.

2

Heisman Trophy winners chosen in the first round. Mayfield and Jackson became the first-ever Heisman bookends to a first round. The last Heisman winner to be drafted in the first round before this year was quarterback Cam Newton in 2010.

0

Other Big 12 players drafted in the first round after Mayfield. The Southeastern Conference led the way with 10 selections.

11

Players from Alabama who were drafted, a school record.

2

Players with the last name of Edmunds who were drafted in the first round. Virginia Tech linebacker Tremaine Edmunds (No. 16 by the Bills) and safety Terrell Edmunds (No. 28 by the Steelers) became the first pair of brothers selected in the opening round. Their older brother Trey is a Saints running back.

Punters drafted in the fifth round: Texas' Michael Dickson by Seattle, Alabama's JK Scott by Green Bay and Florida's Johnny Townsend by Oakland.

2010

The last year a South Dakota State player had been drafted before the Eagles took tight end Dallas Goedert in the second round. Goedert, a Britton, S.D., native, was the 49th overall pick and the third tight end taken.

256

Picks made in the draft. The final player taken, "Mr. Irrelevant," was SMU wide receiver Trey Quinn by the Redskins. As a junior last year, Quinn had 114 catches for 1,236 yards and 13 TDs. He threw a no-hitter in the opening round of the 2008 Little League World Series for South Lake Charles, La.

80

Consecutive years in which Michigan and USC have had at least one player drafted.

6-7, 346
