Long-term unemployment and a weak job market for the formerly unemployed continue to be huge problems for American workers.

One in five workers who was laid off in the past five years has never found a job, according to the latest survey from the Heldrich Center for Workforce Development at Rutgers.

And, that's not all:

And almost half of workers who were laid off and found a new job are being paid less, in a lower-status job.
