A motorcyclist with the right of way at an Apple Valley intersection died after hitting a pickup truck, authorities said Friday.
Later Thursday, a 21-year-old man was run over by a car and killed while crawling on a highway in Mille Lacs County.
The motorcycle crash occurred about 4:45 p.m. Thursday at Pilot Knob Road and W. 157th Street, according to Apple Valley police.
Killed was Troy W. Bargel, 43, of Eagan. The pickup driver, a 34-year-old woman, was uninjured.
The pickup was turning left from westbound 157th onto southbound Pilot Knob when the motorcycle, heading north on Pilot Knob, collided with the pickup, police said.
There is a stop sign on 157th but not for vehicles on Pilot Knob, said Police Capt. Jon Rechtzigel.
The man who was run over was crawling in the northbound lane of Hwy. 169 north of the Grand Casino Mille Lacs about 11:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the State Patrol.
Adam C. Nayquonabe, of Onamia, Minn., was taken by air ambulance to North Memorial Medical Center, where he died, said Patrol Lt. Eric Roeske.
The Patrol said alcohol use by Nayquonabe was detected.
The car's driver, Darlene J. Hiltbrunner, of Deerwood, Minn., was not hurt, the patrol said.
