An SUV driver ran a red light at a busy Brooklyn Park intersection and struck a school bus Tuesday morning, injuring both motorists and two students, authorities said.
The collision occurred about 7:15 a.m. at the intersection of Regent Avenue and Brooklyn Boulevard, according to police.
The bus was heading to the Athlos Leadership Academy charter school, which is about 4 miles north of the crash scene.
The SUV was eastbound on Brooklyn Boulevard, went through a red light at Regent Avenue and hit the bus, said Brooklyn Park Deputy Police Chief Mark Bruley.
All the injured were taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment of noncritical injuries, Bruley said. Their identities were not released.
