1A state hockey: After two, Warroad now up 5-0 over Roch. Lourdes

Senior Brock Nelson, a Mr. Hockey finalist, has a goal and three pretty assists to lead the Warriors.

March 11, 2010 at 4:15AM

Lots of action to start the second period. Warroad hit the crossbar with a shot and the post with another before Brett Hebel ripped a slap shot from the right point at 4:28 of the period making it 3-0.

Rochester Lourdes' Connor Nellans had two golden opportunities right in the crease just after that goal. But Andy Foster stopped them both to preserve his perfect evening.

Warroad then upped its lead to 4-0 at 10:30 (of the period, not the time of the night) when Brock Nelson chased down and icing and centered a perfect pass to Tanner Pederson. Then at 12:48, Nelson again made a great pass - this one from is belly with an out-stretched stick - to Hebel who notched his second of the period.

And with that, we're at 5-zip with 17 minutes to go.
