Yet another fluky goal here in the second period of the Class 1A girls state hockey quarterfinals between South St. Paul and Hutchinson. With 17 minutes to play, it's now a 4-0 lead for the Packers.

After Sam LaShomb scored shorthanded from 90-feet away in the first, Ali Chulla now has an odd goal of her own - also shorthanded.

She put the puck on net from the neutral zone, then smartly chased in after the puck and gathered it after an ill-advised clear by Tigers' goaltender Mary Cummins. Chulla whirled around Cummins, and made it 2-0 a millisecond later.

The Packers scored twice late in the period. Lauren Wilcox scored a power-play goal. Chulla followed that up with an even strength tally, off a nice backhanded feed from Wilcox stationed behind the Hutchinson net, with less than a minute to go.
