PARKERS PRAIRIE, Minn. - Authorities say at least three cars of a Canadian Pacific train have spilled or leaked crude oil after a derailment in western Minnesota.

The Otter Tail Sheriff's Department says the 94-car train was headed south near Parkers Prairie Wednesday morning when it lost air pressure and went into an emergency braking mode. Fourteen cars derailed.

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency is at the scene. Spokesman Dan Olson says more than 20,000 gallons of crude oil has spilled or leaked. Olson says one heavily damaged car has spilled much of its 26,000-gallon load. He says two other cars tipped over and are leaking.

Olson says because the ground is frozen, there's no threat to ground or surface water.

Canadian Pacific spokesman Ed Greenberg says the railroad is cleaning up the spill.
