D. J. Leary is a former political and public affairs media consultant. He retired in 2005 from a life that included co-publishing a political newsletter for nearly a quarter of a century, being involved as a counselor in such wide-ranging community controversies as the building of the Humphrey Metrodome, the 1987 attempted takeover of the then Dayton Hudson Corporation, and the State of Minnesota’s multi-billion dollar lawsuit against the tobacco industry.
