The Rev. Peg Chemberlin is the executive director of the Minnesota Council of Churches. She is the immediate past president of the National Council of Churches, an organization of 36 communions with 45 million constituents across the nation. She is the first Minnesotan to serve as national president. Chemberlin also has been appointed to President Obama's Advisory Council on Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships.

Chemberlin has led the Minnesota Council for 17 years and under her leadership, membership has grown 30 percent, half of which is from the historic Black Churches. She is known for establishing MCC as a gateway organization between the faith community and other sectors. MCC has perhaps the broadest set of relationships with other faith groups in this state Before moving into leadership with the MCC, Chemberlin was director of Minnesota FoodShare. She is a member of the clergy.
