The Rev. Peg Chemberlin is the executive director of the Minnesota Council of Churches. In November 2009, Chemberlin will become the leader of the National Council of Churches, an organization of 35 communions with 45 million constituents across the nation. She is the first Minnesotan to serve as national president. Chemberlin has led the Minnesota Council for 13 year and under her leadership, membership has grown 30 percent, half of which is from the historic Black Churches.  She is known for establishing MCC as a gateway organization between the faith community and other sectors. Before moving into leadership with the MCC, Chemberlin was director of Minnesota FoodShare. She is a member of the clergy.
