Greek police arrest fugitive who escaped from prison by helicopter

Last update: November 16, 2009 - 1:22 AM

ATHENS, Greece - Police in Greece say they have arrested a convicted murderer who broke out of prison earlier this year by helicopter.

Authorities say Albanian Alket Rizaj was arrested north of Athens early Monday, following his daring escape Feb. 22 together with bank robber Vassilis Paleokostas, who has not been captured.

The two men escaped from Greece's largest prison in Athens — staging a repeat of their 2006 chopper breakout from the same jail.
