Obama says key to success is looking for ways to improve, contribute to society

Last update: November 16, 2009 - 12:12 AM

SHANGHAI - President Barack Obama says one of the keys to success is constantly looking for ways to improve and not just accepting "the conventional wisdom."

Obama told Chinese students at a town hall-style event that the people he admires most want to have an impact "beyond their own immediate lives." He gave his recipe for success in response to a question about how he won the Nobel Peace Prize.

Obama encouraged students to ask questions and look for ways they can contribute to society.
