ASUNCION, Paraguay - Paraguayan authorities say 1,200 people have escaped a fire that destroyed a supermarket on the outskirts of the capital, killing two people.
Officials say firefighters and police recovered the bodies of two dead males from the wreckage in Sunday's fire in Asuncion. They say 17 people were injured and taken to the hospital.
The incident raised memories of a supermarket fire in downtown Asuncion five years ago that killed 420 Paraguayans.
