The first "Idol" finalist from Minnesota took fifth place at age 17 in 2006 (the year of Taylor Hicks and Chris Daughtry). She issued two albums, starred in the Lab's production of "Rent" with mom Jamecia Bennett and became a mom herself in 2008.
An "Idol" semifinalist in 2009, she is touring as a backup singer in her brother Jonny Lang's band. Recently issued a solo EP, "Transitions," via iTunes.
Cut before the top 24 last season on "Idol," she went back to fronting jazz combos locally and performs again Tuesday at the Dakota.
Last year's "Voice" castoff had a viral hit with his novelty song about the show, "Hey Adam Levine," and went back to playing bars, restaurants and festivals around the Twin Cities. He also now recaps "The Voice" every Tuesday morning on K-TWIN (96.3 FM).
