Broders "boot" has come in

Broders' Cucina Italiana will host a "focused tasting event" from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dec. 3 to raise money for Slow Food MN. The event is at Broders' Pasta Bar, 5000 Penn Av. S. in Minneapolis. Tickets are on sale in the deli, pasta bar and online at store.broders.com/fresh-off-the-boot.

Library series about food

Seems we can't hear enough about local foods, hence Hennepin County Library's new series, "Talk & Taste," aimed to make us more informed about what we eat. On Dec. 4, the topic is "Urban Gardens," 3-5 p.m. at the Minneapolis Central library, 300 Nicollet Mall. On Dec. 10, the focus is on "Farm to School Programs and Eating Local," 3-5 p.m. at the Southdale library, 7001 York Av. S., Edina.
