Nazem Kadri recorded the fifth hat trick of his career as the Maple Leafs defeated Washington 6-3 in Toronto on Wednesday night, dealing the defending Stanley Cup champions their seventh consecutive loss.

Kadri has 13 goals this season.

Auston Matthews, Nikita Zaitsev and Mitch Marner also scored for Toronto. Frederik Andersen stopped 41 shots for the victory.

Alex Ovechkin scored his league-high 37th goal and Braden Holtby finished with 31 saves for the Capitals.

Montreal 2, Arizona 1: Mike Reilly, the former Gophers and Wild defenseman, scored in the third period and Carey Price made 30 saves as the host Canadiens beat the Coyotes.

St. Louis 5, Anaheim 1: Zach Sanford and Oskar Sundqvist scored goals less than six minutes apart early in the second period to lead the visiting Blues over the Ducks. Sanford's goal made it 2-1.
