Wizards hold off Rose, Bulls again
CHICAGO – Paul Pierce had 22 points, and the Washington Wizards beat the Chicago Bulls 105-99 on Wednesday night, despite Derrick Rose's season-high 32.
John Wall scored 10 of his 21 in the fourth quarter. Bradley Beal added 17, and the Wizards knocked off the Central division leaders for the second time in six days.
•THE WILD WEST: The Los Angeles Clippers held off host Portland 100-94, despite 37 points and 12 rebounds from the Blazers' LaMarcus Aldridge. Jamal Crawford had 25 points off the bench to lead the Clippers, followed by Chris Paul with 23 points and 10 assists.
•LOST AND FOUND: Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan, back in the starting lineup after missing 21 games because of a torn tendon in his left groin, scored 20 points in host Toronto's 100-84 victory over Philadelphia. DeRozan was averaging 19.4 points and 4.2 rebounds in 16 games.
•RARE AIR FOR HAWKS: DeMarre Carroll and Jeff Teague each scored 22 points to help the Atlanta Hawks win their 10th consecutive game, 105-91 over the host Boston Celtics.
•UNSTOPPABLE GINOBILI: Manu Ginobili had 27 points on 10-of-14 shooting and the San Antonio Spurs beat Charlotte 98-93 to snap the host Hornets' winning streak at five games.
