Hibbing, Minn.
Jan has lived in northern Minnesota (the rural Hibbing area) all her life. She and her husband own over 100 acres of land in the woods and enjoy the wildlife and birds that frequent their yard, as well as vegetable gardening and many other outdoor activities. They both share a great interest in keeping data on the sometimes severe weather they encounter in this area and have 2 weather stations - an older Ultimeter 800 and a newer Davis Vantage Pro 2, so they always know the conditions as they arise. The Schmids have two dogs, a Doberman and a Sheltie; 1 Paint horse, an African Grey parrot and numerous aquariums.
