Andover, Minn.
Charles came to the weather through horticulture. As he became aware of microclimates and the particular weather in Andover, Minn., he wanted to pay attention to local data. His Davis Vantage Pro2 moved onto his property in March 2005. Born in Oklahoma and raised in Indiana, he learned about the destructive power of tornadoes. They breed a healthy respect for all things meteorological. He looks forward to any comments.

Samhain Full Dark Moon
As if to say sorry for October, November has dawned full of light. An October in the top ten for cold and wet (and gloom) has passed onto the lower part of the spiral, but we will return to this spot next year. When I look outside my window, I see the golden leaves of dogwoods not yet fallen, a few poison ivy plants I've not killed and the green of the pachysandra all backlit by the morning sun.
On October 20th we had lost 34 degrees of inclination for the sun since the Summer Solstice and by November 20th we will have lost 44, close to the December 20th number of 47. Our planet's tilt moves our hemisphere away from the sun as we move through this sector of our orbit around Sol. The resulting decrease in the intensity of sunlight brings us winter in spite of perihelion (our closest physical approach to the sun) which occurs on January 3rd.Low to mid 30s in the next few days with mid 40s this weekend and flurries possible Sunday, Chris Shaffer reports (1:00).
Chance of flurries until tonight and temperatures will stay chilly until Friday and Saturday, Chris Shaffer reports (1:00).
Scattered show showers are expected for parts of Minnesota Wednesday, Ron Trenda reports (1:01).
Mind the scattered snow showers Wednesday as you make your way to grandmother's house, Ron Trenda reports (1:00).
Chance of snow headed our way Wednesday afternoon with temperatures ranging in the 30s and 40s, Chris Shaffer reports (1:00).
It will be cloudy with a chance of showers Tuesday night, Chris Shaffer Reports (1:02).
There should be some scattered showers and a more merky and damp night Tuesday, Mike Augustyniak reports (1:03).
The travel forecast for Wednesday calls for the possibility of snow, Mike Augustyniak reports (1:00).
A frontal boundaray west of the Twin Cities is keeping temperatures mild Monday night, Chris Shaffer reports (1:00).
A chance for rain in the Twin Cities Monday night, Chris Shaffer reports (1:00).
