Warning Description: Winter Storm Watch

Warning Date: 2:31 am CDT on October 11, 2009

WarningSum:...Winter Storm Watch Remains In Effect From Late Tonight Through
Monday Afternoon...

Warning Message:A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from late tonight through
Monday afternoon.
An usually early winter storm is still expected to bring several
inches of snow to much of southern into central Minnesota tonight
and Monday. Snow will spread into southwest Minnesota around
midnight and they fan out as far east and north as Alexandria
...The Twin Cities...and Albert Lea before daybreak Monday. Snow
will continue across southern and central Minnesota before
tapering off early Monday afternoon. The latest projections are
that the heavier snow totals may be a bit farther south than
earlier thought and with amounts a bit less. Snow totals of 2 to
5 inches should be mainly south of a line from Alexandria to the
Cambridge area with high end of these totals probably south of the
Twin Cities and Montevideo. The Winter Storm Watch will remain in
effect for west central and central Minnesota...but if the track
of this storm continues to shift south some of the heavier totals
will probably fall south of the watch area. Forecasts will be
adjusted accordingly during the day today.
Low pressure area will organize and strengthen over The Rockies
today then lift northeast over the Midwest tonight and Monday. The
system will quickly exit the upper Midwest Monday afternoon.

It was windy and cold yesterday and there is still some remnants of snow left from early yesterdays storm. It looks like this approaching storm is now going to brush by us at best. Most of the storm will now track way to the south, giving us at most just some flurries. However the cold will remain. You can get up to the minute updates at http;//roboweather.info
