We are on the other side of the front now and its warm and humid on this side of the front. The dew point is now over 70. That means it is real sticky out. I measured just over a tenth of an inch rain from yesterday afternoon until now. While a friend of mine that lives in Lakeville (Southeast Metro) measured about 3.5 inches of rain for the same period. So clearly the storms were in Southern Minnesota. The rain that we have been getting has been enough to keep the drought from getting any worse. However it has not really gotten any better either. We could use a considerable amount of rain to refill the streams and reservoirs. What I am seeing now is more storms develop in Southwestern Minnesota and Eastern South Dakota. These storms are moving Northeast. So again if they continue in their current strength and direction we could be seeing some heavy rain tonight. Time will tell. In the mean time keep that umbrella close by.
