Northwest Mountain Snow

Moisture will stream onshore in the Pacific Northwest today, dampening Washington and northwestern Oregon. Meanwhile, snow will fall over the Cascades of Washington through central Oregon and the far northern Rockies.

By tonight, up to half of a foot of snow could pile up in the higher elevations, with slick road conditions likely through the mountain passes. More rain and mountain snow can be expected as the system pushes past on Monday, when another 3 to 6 inches of snowfall is possible.

Who Has the Rain? - Seattle, Wash., has had over 5 inches of rain this month. Astoria, Ore., right on the coast, has received over 10 inches thus far. This in marked contrast to what has fallen farther south. San Francisco has had a mere 0.01 of an inch which is very unusual for that location. In Los Angeles, there hasn't been a drop of rain since Oct. 16!
