Next Cold Shot for Northeast, Great Lakes

Milder air will press into the Northeast this weekend and will continue to grace the region into early next week. The pleasant weather, however, will likely not last into midweek.

A new cold front may push from the Great Lakes to the Northeast on Tuesday into Wednesday. The front will quickly erase the mild air from both of these regions. Brisk winds may also howl, further adding to the fresh chill.

Who Has the Rain? - Seattle, Wash., has had over 5 inches of rain this month. Astoria, Ore., right on the coast, has received over 10 inches thus far. This in marked contrast to what has fallen farther south. San Francisco has had a mere 0.01 of an inch which is very unusual for that location. In Los Angeles, there hasn't been a drop of rain since Oct. 16! Persistent high pressure over the intermountain region has blocked Pacific storms from coming into California with the main storm track directed at the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia.
