East Coast Frost Threat

Be sure to cover or bring your plants and tender vegetation indoors this evening if you live from the mid-Atlantic to northeastern Georgia. Underneath a cold dome of high pressure, temperatures will plummet near or below freezing tonight. The combination of the cold, clear skies and calm winds will quickly allow frost to develop. Frost formation is expected in Richmond, Va., as well as the colder spots of Raleigh, Charlotte and Augusta.

In the graphic above, the darker green indicates where temperatures will drop into the 30s tonight.
